Creating Dynamic Websites with Lisp and Apache

The meta description tag of a web page is often used by search engines as the text snippet on the search engine results pages.

Here are some tips for a good meta description.

I've been using Overture, WordTracker , Keyword Discovery and Keyword Country for quite a while.

Overture's results tend to be highly skewed due to automated searches. Combine that with the lumping of singular and plurals and the incorrect ordering of many phrases and it loses it's usefulness.

WordTracker has a fairly small db, but it can give you some fairly good data until you get to very small niche phrases at which time it loses it's usefulness.

If you use an external display or projector with any MacBook Pro or PowerBook G4 and a USB mouse or keyboard, you can close the display and still use the computer. Here's how.

1. Make sure the computer is plugged in to an outlet using the AC power adapter.
2. Connect a USB keyboard and mouse to your computer.
3. Connect the Apple video (VGA or DVI) adapter that came with your computer to the appropriate port on the external display or projector and turn the display or projector on.
